Home for us is the itinerary for everyone else.

An agency in a city books what is available. We book what is good, because we know which room faces the ridge, which dhaba is worth the stop, and which stretch of road to clear before dark. When a pass shuts, we already have the other way around.

Best time to travel

The mountain decides. We just tell you honestly.

Some months we will talk you out of a route rather than sell it. Chandratal is a road, not a promise.

Mar – Jun Snow in Solang, open passes by late May. Best for first-timers and Spiti by road.

Jul – Aug Monsoon in Kullu and Kangra. We move people to Spiti and Ladakh, which stay dry.

Sep – Oct Clear skies, thin crowds, best light of the year. Our own favourite window.

Nov – Feb Winter Spiti, snow in Manali and Shimla. Fewer routes, tighter groups, more planning.

How far in advance should we book?+

Two to three weeks for most routes. For winter Spiti and long weekends, earlier, we cap group sizes, so seats go.

What is not included in the price?+

Flights and trains to the start point, personal expenses, and anything you add on the road. Everything else is written out before you pay.

Is it safe for solo travellers and women?+

Yes, and we say who your driver and host are before you arrive. Small groups, known properties, one local reachable the whole time.

What happens if a pass or road closes?+

We reroute the same day. Every itinerary we send has a second way around already worked out.

Can you customise a group trip for us?+

Most of what we run is built around a group. Tell us the dates and the pace and we will write the route around them.
